ABOUT
Visual Artist, Experimental Filmmaker
Ainaz Alipour is a multidisciplinary artist studying Studio Art (MFA) at University of South Florida, who received a MA in Film from Ohio University. Her past and current projects have been mainly focused on deconstructing the media and traditional ways of communicating. For example, in her project “Luna Moth” which is a rotoscoped drawing animation, she decided to express the meaning by reducing the conventional ways of understanding the language. How to talk without a mouth and create meanings without saying actual words. In her other project “Interval” which is an interactive video installation, her main concern is to challenge the notion of cinema by asking a structural question about film making hierarchy. It was a study on how the audience can shape the final outcome of the story, by choosing between different sequences. She tried to blur the lines between the roles of the audience and author through interactive art.
